School's Out for the Summer

Monkey's preschool graduation, circa 2006.

The fifth grade graduate, 2012.

Wow. Time flies. I can't believe that the little boy in the first picture is finished with elementary school. This coming school year all four of my boys will be in school (four different schools). I admit that it makes me feel a little weepy to see my family growing up so fast.

But, for now we have the whole long summer to look forward to. We have big plans for a road trip out west and to the pacific northwest. Three of my boys have scout camps. I'm sure there will be lots of trips to the pool and the park and dollar movies and many, many popsicles consumed. Maybe we will even organize a neighborhood kickball or baseball game. Bring it on!

Listen to this, but have your tissues handy.

Yesterday I threw together some last minute teacher gifts for the younger boys' teachers. I love bright, colorful things for elementary school teachers. I used cheap Target frames for THIS printable subway art from the girls at Eighteen25 and stuck a book store gift card into the pail of gum balls. I added a quickly stamped tag and that was it. It really only took be about 5 minutes to put it together.

My first order of business for the summer is to set up a summer schedule for us. I have been pinning all sorts of fun ideas on Pinterest (here and a few here). We also have three summer birthdays so the next three months should be full of excitement. And hopefully some lazy days too.

What's on your summer to-do list?
