All is Well

This is a series I am doing for the month of October. If you are new, you can start HERE.
Day 9

Thoughts on Joy:
When I was a child, one of my favorite hymns was "Come, Come Ye Saints". I always felt a strong connection to my pioneer heritage and I would think of the pioneers crossing the plains with their handcarts and covered wagons whenever I sang this song. The meaning has become a little deeper to me as an adult. The first two verses say:
Come, come, ye saints, no toil nor labor fear;
But with joy wend your way.
Though hard to you this journey may appear,
Grace shall be as your day.
'Tis better far for us to strive
Our useless cares from us to drive;
Do this, and joy your hearts will swell -
All is well! All is well!

Why should we mourn or think our lot is hard?
'Tis not so; all is right.
Why should we think to earn a great reward
If we now shun the fight?
Gird up your loins; fresh courage take.
Our God will never us forsake;
And soon we'll have this tale to tell-
All is well! All is well!
~William Clayton

Sometimes we have to take joy at face value. We aren't always going to have the exhilarating joyful moments. I think if we had those every single day they would lose their potency.  Sometimes joy just comes in the form of peace. Today I feel peace. All is well.

Today I Found Joy in My Journey:
--Going to church, singing hymns of praise and partaking of the Sacrament
--Listening to beautiful music
--Taking a peaceful Sunday nap and waking up refreshed
--Hearing my sweet boy, who was sick this morning, squeal with laughter. He is obviously feeling better!
--Waking up in my flannel sheeted bed to the sound of rain. I love an occasional rainy day.

 What brought you joy today?

Those are beautiful words to the song, I can see why you love it! :) It sounds like you had a wonderful day, and I agree that naps on Sunday afternoons are a perfect way to spend it! {I still love afternoon naps!} What brought joy today...hum, probably getting some time to play the piano and work on a new song. :)

Thanks again by the way for coming by my blog and saying hello! It's so nice to meet you! :)

Blessings,
Jenni
