Time to Unwind

Don't let the chipper expressions fool you. What you see here is three little boys waiting at the pharmacy for their prescriptions. What you can't see is a combined total of five (FIVE!) ear infections. Oy.

I was sitting at my desk this evening trying to catch up with stuff (i.e. the nearly 900 emails I have been neglecting--and yes most of them were garbage, but still. . .) and thinking about everything I have to do this weekend, wishing my husband was home from work to help put the boys to bed, thinking about what a tough week this has been health-wise (and money wise--three doctor's office visit co-pays?! Ouch.) when I realized that the tension I was feeling had turned my shoulders into bricks. Yes. Bricks.

Time to unwind.

Step 1: Make sure all children are in their beds once and for all.
Step 2: Don pajamas.
Step 3: Try out new lavender essential oil I treated myself to. It's supposed to help you relax.
Step 4: Do some yoga.
Step 5: Flop down on the couch with a glass of cold water (with a little lemon) and a bowl of vegetable munchies and put on a movie--something girly like "A Room with a View" or "Enchanted April".
Step 6: The laundry and kitchen floor will still be waiting tomorrow morning. Try not to think about them too much.

Relaxing at the end of a long day. There's nothing quite like it.
How do you unwind?

I love a really, really hot bath. I will likely poach myself someday. I hope things improve for you. :) It is hard to have sick kids.

sounds lovely. Lately my "unwind" has been going for a walk after work and before the kids come home. relaxing sounds so much better! :)

I love walks when the weather is nice! By myself or with my husband is best. I love my kids but dragging them along is definitely not the way for me to unwind. :)

Thanks! They are all feeling well enough to be driving me crazy. :) I love hot baths too. I love them with bubbles or something smelly (in a good way) in the water.
