First Birthday Celebration of the Year

Tonight we celebrated my husband's birthday. In keeping with tradition I made a special birthday dinner of his favorite things (roast and mashed potatoes) and we had a little family party with cake and presents afterwards.

We all told him reasons we love him and he told us stories about his past birthdays like the year he turned ten and his little sister was born and the time his mom brought a cake to school for him and his friends when he turned  seventeen.
I love this man. He works so hard to take care of our family. He is a good dad and a kind husband. He is intelligent and humble. He loves his family and he makes me laugh almost every day.

P.S. Today is also the 15th anniversary of the day he asked me to marry him. Pretty cool, huh?

P.P.S. Only one week until Valentine's Day. I'm going to count down the week by sharing things that I love with you each day because I love you too.

Love it! His favorite meal hasn't changed. Growing up I remember Mom letting him picked the meal and me dessert. I also remember him influencing heavily what was also selected for dessert. :)

Ha ha! So typical. Did he usually want cherry cheesecake? Maybe I should have made that instead of cake. :)
