I Heart Simple Pleasures

I love those little things in life that sometimes get taken for granted: eating ice cream on the front porch; wearing short sleeves--no jacket required; cleaning my house with the windows wide open; lavender hand soap (with real lavender); getting lots of laundry done; a free Netflix trial to entertain me while I'm folding aforementioned laundry; laughing at silly jokes; juicy pear jelly bellies; seeing my son open the car door for a girl--not because he necessarily likes her, but because he is a gentleman; finding funny pictures while I was cleaning the house that my kids drew; potentially high stress situations coming together and working out smoothly; the jazz band concert last night.

Seriously, the concert was awesome. It made all the getting up an hour earlier for morning band practices this semester worth it.

P.S. Specs got his new specs yesterday. Bifocals. What do you think? He melts my heart with his overalls, glasses and that sprout of hair poking up in the back.

Well I can see why he would melt your heart, what a sweetie. I love the prout of hair poking up in the back, so cute.

Thanks for your kind comment, Ida! My dad commented that it seems I have a special relationship with my little guy. It's true. He is my buddy and I am going to miss him so much when he starts kindergarten in the fall.
